ZenEdu was the child project of Blunt, a member of the French Zenwalk Forum. The initial iso, which included an important portion of 'French only' educational programs, was made in December 2006. As Blunt has since been unable to continue with this great initiative, this is a community effort, with his approval, to revive it as an international LiveCD.

The result of that effort was the Christmas Special Edition of ZenEdu Live. You can read its release announcement and find out where to download from ZenWalk's main page.

We will soon be working on the 2008 Summer's Edition. Please watch this page for further updates.

ZenEdu Live is currently on hiatus because the members are all busy with work or personal lives. It will resume when someone chooses to coordinate/direct it. If you are interested in coordinating or picking it up, please direct your announcement to Zenwalk Live subforum.

[edit] Roadmap

In 2007, we made a Special Christmas Edition which, due to the shortness of time, we kept pretty simple, in other words a ZenLive choked full of educational programs & games. The geared audience were kids of all ages & educational institutions. There was no size limits (apart from the CD-ROM size) & we used lzma compression in order to be able to fit it all in one CD-ROM.

At the moment, this is not (yet) an 'official' Zenwalk production but more of an experimentation, so we are just having fun & enjoying ourselves, not being pressed by any rigid schedule or constraints of any kind.

For Summer 2008, we hope to create some sort of template that we can follow for the releases to come.
